Secured market rentals for site near Kingsway and Clark

Stuart Howard Architects Inc. has designed a handsome, six-storey secured market rental building near Kingsway and Clark Drive.

The building, at 1265-1281 Kingsway, will replace several small commercial buildings and include 43 secured market rental units, developed under the city’s Secured Market Rental Housing (Rental 100) Policy

The policy for rezonings allows for parking reductions, additional height and floor area, as well as DCL waivers. Minimum unit sizes can also be relaxed to 320 sq ft., provided that the design and location of the unit meets the livability criteria defined by the city.

This proposal will include 51 underground parking stalls, 10 of which are for the ground floor retail units. There will also be 89 bicycle spaces.

The development is adjacent to another upcoming building at 1247 Kingsway, also designed by Stuart Howard Architects.
