Prima Properties held an open house Wednesday for an upcoming 43-storey tower at Burrard and Davie, on the site of the current Davie Community Garden and a former Shell service station.

The upcoming tower at 1157 Burrard Street at Davie was designed by Merrick Architecture, who also designed the nearby Tate on Howe tower.

The site was identified by the City of Vancouver in the West End Plan as a site for higher buildings up to 375 ft.

The market condo tower will include 271 units, ranging from studios to two bedroom and den units, as well as 233 parking spaces and 356 bike parking stalls.

50 per cent of the units will be suitable for families (two bedroom or larger).

A small plaza is proposed for the corner Davie and Burrard. Three retail units are proposed along Davie Street.

The exterior of the building will be animated with coloured solar shades. The development is targeting LEED Gold.
