Vancouver retail vacancy rates hit ‘extreme lows’

Despite taking a battering during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vancouver retail vacancies are at extreme lows according to a new report from Colliers International.

A new condominium project at Osler Street and SW Marine Drive is about to launch presales and is now taking registrations.

8888 Osler is being developed by Tria Homes, and will have a total of 76 units over six-storeys. There will also be five retail units at grade, comprising a total of 6,800 sq ft.

The building will feature studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units, and is adjacent to the Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel.

The developer emphasizes the project’s westside address.

“On the Westside of Vancouver, in the Marpole neighbourhood, 8888 Osler offers a unique opportunity to be a part of this historic community surrounded by parks, restaurants and shops.”

The project is expected to be completed in 2019, and the architect is GBL.
