Fairview Tower planned at Broadway and Hemlock

Yuanheng Developments is planning a 24-storey office tower at West Broadway and Hemlock, known as Fairview Tower.

The 300,000 square feet office tower with ground-floor retail space will replace the temporary home of Downtown Toyota, which will soon relocate back to downtown Vancouver once the Burrard Place office tower completes later this year.

The class A office tower will be LEED Gold Certified, and is designed by Andrew Cheung Architects Inc. The architect says the design “attempts to create a memorable landmark tower for the Fairview slope highpoint particularly viewed from the downtown area and driving along Granville Bridge.”

The top of the tower has a sloping angular form, inspired by a mountain top, and the façade is designed to mirror the cityscape and the sky. Office tenants will have access to a rooftop amenity area, and there will also be a tenants lounge on the third floor, opening up to an outdoor amenity terrace.

A public art piece is planned for the corner of Hemlock and West Broadway, and the developer is also proposing to implement further pubic art features into the façade of the building.

There will be five levels of underground parking with 392 stalls. The development site is one block from the future SkyTrain station at West Broadway and Granville, which is also the site of a new office development, by PCI Group.

It’s also in close proximity to a future rental tower by Jameson Development.
