Ground broken for Langley’s first two highrise towers

Vesta Properties has broken ground on the first two residential highrise towers to ever be built in Langley.

The development, known as The Towers at Latimer, is located at 201st and 80th Avenue.

Once complete, it will consist of approximately 500 homes in two towers of 26 and 34 storeys, which will be the tallest buildings east of Surrey.

Vesta Properties’ Director of Sales, Tara Desmond, says demand was strong for the units, which sold out before they could have a public grand opening for the project.

Township of Langley Mayor Jack Froese says he supports the project wholeheartedly.

“I feel that we’re now entering a new era in the Township of Langley, by putting density in our urban core where we can provide great transportation, great services, and great amenities for the people who move in here. Five hundred new homes will be built on this site.”

Vesta Properites is based in Langley and has built over 6,000 homes in B.C. and Alberta. The development in Latimer Heights has been in the works for several years and was first profiled by urbanYVR in 2021.

Vesta Properties is facing some pushback from the community over its plans for a third highrise at the Latimer Heights development — this one at 45-storeys, reports the Langley Advance Times.
