Vancouver retail vacancy rates hit ‘extreme lows’

Despite taking a battering during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Vancouver retail vacancies are at extreme lows according to a new report from Colliers International.

A boutique project with only 16 residential units at the corner of Heather Street and West 17th Avenue is now selling.

Officially called “Heather and Seventeenth”, the modern, concrete four-storey building will feature two and three-bedroom units, as well as two ground-floor retail units.

The project is being developed by Terra Blanka Developments and was designed by GBL Architects. Interiors are by Cristina Oberti Interior Design, in collaboration with local, high-end furniture retailer Livingspace.

The project replaces a walk-up rental apartment building. A 1,322 sq ft. two-bedroom unit is currently listed by Blu Realty for $1,899,900.
