7/11 at Rupert and East 22nd to be replaced by rental apartments

A strip mall in East Vancouver will soon be replaced by a rental apartment building.

Cornerstone Architecture has designed a six-storey, mixed-use building with retail on the ground floor and 55 rental apartments above, for the site at East 22nd and Rupert Street.

The strip mall is currently home to a 7/11 convenience store and is across from Renfrew Elementary School.

There will be a range of units including studios (starting at 463 sq ft.); one, two and three bedroom units. All units will have in-suite storage and a balcony.

The units will be “secured market” rentals, meaning they will be rental apartments for the life of the building.

Residents will have access to an outdoor amenity area including a small children’s play area and area for gardening. There will also be an indoor amenity room with kitchen.

An open house will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Renfrew Elementary School Library (3315 East 22nd Avenue).
