Pre-fab social housing slated for SE Marine Drive

A six-storey, modular social housing building designed by Human Studio | Architecture & Urban Design is proposed at SE Marine Drive and Beatrice Street.

The building will include 72 social housing units and seven parking stalls, plus 84 bicycle parking spaces.

The development will support single adults, seniors and people with disabilities who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the local community.

The residential units are built from prefabricated wood construction and will sit on top of a site-built amenity/ground level. The building will be eligible for Passive House certification.

There will be a landscaped outdoor amenity space on the 5th floor rooftop, and an elevated patio on the ground floor.

The green façade colour was chosen to reference Vancouver’s character homes and the riverbank context.
