Office space planned atop former Hollywood North on Seymour Street

A mid-block heritage building on Seymour Street in downtown Vancouver, most recently known as the Hollywood North building, will be restored and redeveloped by Bene Group, with a design by Arno Matis Architecture.

The Telus Garden office building has been complete and open since September, but the condo tower is still under construction. But it’s edging ever closer to completion, with some of the finishing touches now being applied to the exterior.

When complete, the building will have 53 storeys and 428 units. The developer is Westbank and the architect is Henriquez Partners, who recently moved their office into the office building of Telus Garden.

An RBC bank branch is rumoured to be going in the corner retail unit on the ground floor at Robson and Richards. YYoga is reportedly out, despite appearing in some of the early renderings of the development.

The nearly finished product looks quite different from the proposal, with the wood details on the tower and promised onyx panels missing from the lower floors of the building. Hopefully they will be added before completion.
