It’s no secret it’s challenging getting enough money together for a deposit on a presale, particularly in Vancouver’s pricey real estate market. Prospective buyers often resort to bank loans in order to cover the down payment amount, which can range from 20-25 per cent of the purchase price.

That’s why local developer, Vertex Developments, is offering eight per cent interest on deposits at its upcoming project, The Hillcrest, with the idea of covering any interest owed on down payment loans, plus an additional three-to-four per cent interest as an incentive.

The development is an upcoming 17-unit townhouse project near the King Edward Canada Line station at West King Edward Avenue and Columbia Street.

The development will include 17 one, two and three-bedroom townhomes targeted at families. Amenities will include a courtyard with a communal herb garden — which will come in handy for the high-end, David Robertson-approved kitchens.

The kitchens were designed in collaboration with the owners of The Dirty Apron cooking school in Crosstown.

Robertson is the co-owner of the Dirty Apron cooking school in Crosstown, and an award-winning chef. All homes at The Hillcrest will also include free class at the Dirty Apron cooking school, as well as a Dirty Apron gift box that includes a signed copy of Robertson’s new cookbook, Gather.

The Hillcrest is being developed by a team of award-winning, highly-experienced experts including Formwerks Architectural, Area3 interior designers and Allaire Construction.

Sales at The Hillcrest are expected to start in early April 2020.
