Small residential building proposed for former site of Topanga Cafe

A four-storey building with residential over retail is proposed for West 4th Avenue near Macdonald Street, on the former site of the Topanga Cafe, which burnt down in 2018.

Formosis Architecture has designed the infill building which will include 16 units over two retail units. There will be three surface parking spaces in the laneway.

Most of the units will be studios, as well as 3 one bedroom units. The developer is Value Group.

The development is located adjacent to another small, upcoming residential development designed by BÃœRO47architecture.

The two adjacent projects are far from the only developments coming to the neighbourhood.

Half-a-block away at the corner of Macdonald and West 4th, a four-storey building with a London Drugs on the ground floor is planned.
