Anthem Properties acquires another site in Surrey city centre

Anthem Properties has acquired another site in the heart of Surrey’s city centre.

The developer has acquired 10232 Whalley Boulevard, a聽a 4.4-acre site聽directly across the street from聽Georgetown,聽Anthem’s 10-acre, master-planned community including seven residential towers and 120,000 sq ft. of restaurants, offices and retail space.

Anthem plans to submit a rezoning proposal for a future master planned residential community to the city, in line with聽Surrey’s聽Official Community Plan and area planning policies.聽The site is currently home to a Toys ‘R’ Us and Dollarama.

Surrey City Centre is emerging as Metro Vancouver’s new downtown south of the Fraser River and聽Surrey聽is expected to surpass聽Vancouver聽in population in the next 15 to 20 years.

The neighbourhood is being built as a highly-walkable community with green spaces and open plazas, with residential, civic, university, office and retail services. It has also been聽designated by city planners as the future commercial, cultural and social hub of聽Surrey.
