CRAFT Beer Market is hard at work on their new English Bay location, expected to open later this year in downtown Vancouver.
The popular spot — which has a busy location in the Olympic Village — took over the space formerly occupied by The Boathouse restaurant, which closed in October 2018. The Boathouse in Horseshoe Bay also closed in 2016, but there are still locations operating in White Rock, New West, Richmond and Port Moody.
The English Bay location features a massive patio with ocean views, and will no doubt be a popular spot for the Celebration of Light fireworks, as it was during the Boathouse days.
The Calgary-based CRAFT Beer Market has locations across Canada in Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton, Kelowna and Calgary. The English Bay location will be the company’s second restaurant in Vancouver.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, all CRAFT Beer Market locations were closed as of 9 p.m. on March 16.
A statement from President and Founder PJ L’Heureux reads:
For the well-being of our Team, our Guests, and our community we have decided to self-impose the closure of all CRAFT Beer Market locations effective at 9PM – local time – March 16th. This closure is temporary and will remain in effect until further notice. Our company remains committed to all of our Team Members and we will work to ensure everyone affected by these closures receives the assistance they require quickly and efficiently.
CRAFT Beer Market has remained vigilant in providing a safe place for our Team Members and Guests during the current situation related to Coronavirus (COVID-19). We did this with the dedication and passion of all our Team Members the only way we know how; with a comforting smile and an approachable environment.
To our Team Members and Guests, I am unsure of when we will be able to re-open. We will remain up to date on all information available and will only re-open our restaurants when it is safe to do so. The health and safety of our people and community are of the utmost importance to me and our company. We must do our part to get through this together.
Thank you for your understanding and your support.
