A sloped site on Kingsway near Knight that’s home to a series of small commercial buildings will soon be redeveloped into a six-storey rental project.
Yamamoto Architecture Inc. and Peterson Group are behind plans for the 49-unit project, with retail use on the ground floor.
There will be three townhouse units on the laneway, and two levels of underground parking.
The project site at 1375-1379 Kingsway is on the south end of a triangular-shaped block at the corner of Kingsway and Knight Street.
The architect says the proposal “responds to the City of Vancouver’s objectives and policies regarding affordable and family housing, transit-oriented communities, and sustainability.”
It’s being considered under the city’s Secured Market Housing Policy (Rental 100) policy.
