Aoyuan Canada recently marked an exciting milestone in the construction of One Central, Surrey’s tallest residential tower, by celebrating the topping off with partners and community members.
This important milestone marks the end of the forming stage, and bring it one step closer to occupancy. “We are well underway to soon be welcoming Aoyuan’s first residents in B.C. and the One Central tower will be our first completed development in Canada,” said Fan Yang, General Manager of Aoyuan Canada.
The tower, designed by Chris Dikeakos Architects Inc., stands 44 storeys and located in Surrey Central, just steps away from SkyTrain and the SFU Surrey campus, the North Surrey recreation centre and countless amenities. It’s also located just five minutes from the upcoming UBC Surrey campus.
“One Central is an important mixed-use tower in the heart of West Village with streetscapes of commercial retail units and townhouse units,” said Richard Bernstein, Principal and Design Architect at Chris Dikeakos Architects Inc. “Aoyuan provided their purchasers with a wide variety of unit types and sizes from studios to townhouses units and everything in between and achieved a strong contextual fit of this project within this emerging neighbourhood.”
One Central will offer over 20,000 square feet of amenities for residents, spread over five floors, including well-equipped fitness centres, and rooftop terrace with BBQs. The rooftop amenity will be over 8,000 square feet with an indoor/outdoor lounge and a Sky Fitness centre. Residents will be able to rest and recharge amid panoramic rooftop views.
Aoyuan is creating living spaces with a healthy lifestyle in mind. On the 34th floor, residents will have access to a coworking space, with private meeting rooms and individual work pods; allowing them to work from home without sacrificing their living space.
The construction of the tower is managed by Urban One Builders and they have shared that One Central is set to be an iconic building in the heart of Surrey. “Not only is it the tallest residential tower in the city, but it truly offers incredible amenities throughout,” said Allan Beron, president of URBAN ONE.
The interiors by Cristina Oberti Interior Design will be based on form and function, designed for ultimate usability, with a smart and contemporary design. Select units will include a sliding wall partition, allowing residents to easily transition their home from day to night for maximum functionality.
Other high-end features include custom roller blinds in all homes and a European appliance package including a Fulgor gas cooktop, wall oven, dishwasher and refrigerator, as well as a stacked Blomberg washer/dryer.

Surrey is the fastest growing major city in B.C., and the third-fastest growing city in Canada. The population grew by more than nine per cent between 2016 and 2021, surpassing 560,000 people, and is on track to surpass the population of the City of Vancouver in the coming decades.
